At St.James’ Park tonight, United’s under 18 side managed to reach the 6th round of the FA Youth Cup despite falling behind to a first half goal from the visitors.

The fans who turned out were well rewarded as they were treated to extra time and a United win.

Firstly, Newcastle’s pressure eventually paid of with just over five minutes left when a penalty was awarded for a foul on Maddison, Campbell stepping up to equalise.

Maddison was also involved in the home side’s winner when his cross was headed in by Hooper to send the kids into the Youth Cup quarter final.

The opposition will be Blackburn in yet another home tie as the under 18s continue to show the first team how to deal with cup-ties.
