Coloccini “Of Course I Want To Stay”
I don’t know whether it is an age thing but I’m becoming a bit more relaxed as to whether players stay or go.
Naturally I want our best players to stay and the not so best to go but if players want to leave then so be it.
Of course I’m gutted if I believe the club hasn’t done everything it can to hang onto our star turns but at the heart of it you need players who want to be here.
One of those players, both a star turn and one who I believe wants to be here, is Fabricio Coloccini.
Until he signs on the dotted line there will always be that fear factor of losing him but this is what his relaxed attitude is:
“Of course I want to stay. We’re speaking. It’s a normal process. Everything’s OK.
We have to think about each game – not the Champions League or Europa League. We just have to give 100% in every game.
Then when there are four or five games left in the league, we can weigh up which competition we are going for”.
For all that the team has exceeded our expectations this season, I do continue to think that a small nucleus of players is at times just about holding things together.
Coloccini is one of those with the string and sticky tape, I can’t see him going anywhere.
