Pardew – ‘Horrible Time For Managers’

When recently asked about this transfer window time of the year Alan Pardew commented – “It’s a horrible time for managers!!!”.

Unless there are any unexpected last minute problems with Papiss Demba Rodney Cissé’s medical, the signing will confirm two definite things.

Firstly, that as I’ve always thought, almost every single signing that actually happens comes from out of the blue.

Secondly, I wouldn’t like to play cards with Alan Pardew!

The single point of contact for everybody in the media, yet nobody had an inkling from the manager that there was a sniff of this incoming transfer happening. Apart from Sky of course who were given the story, though naturally they’d been sworn to secrecy.

The manager went on to say, “Everybody’s being speculated to be with us. The players we have at Newcastle get speculated about. The players who are doing great then pitch in about new contracts. It is a lot to cover. You can’t cover it all, but we’re doing our best”.

I’m really pleased for Alan Pardew because this signing is the very least he deserved, sign a quality defender and let nobody (decent) leave and this could really be a club going places.
