Pardew – ‘Hatem Could Be A Legend’

If you are a manager/club aspiring to compete at the very top, a vital part of the job is to manage those players capable of taking you there. Players who have that certain something which all too often comes along with a fragile ego.

Players like Ben Arfa.

Alan Pardew in advance of today’s match at Craven Cottage had this to say; “Hatem Ben Arfa has the ability to become a ‘legend’ at Newcastle United, the challenge is for Hatem to get in this team”.

With the likely exclusion of Cabaye through injury, surely today is the time to embrace the talent that is Ben Arfa and give him his start.

As Alan Pardew says, the challenge for the player is to get in his first eleven but I think we definitely need to give him that chance today and just watch him rise to that challenge.
