Roll up roll up for the TV fixture lottery.

Spin the wheel and find the worst kick-off times to move Newcastle United matches to.

I know we should be used to it by now but the latest list of matches moved for TV have been announced today, with the derby against sunderland moved to noon on a Sunday (4th March), live on ESPN.

Yes we understand TV companies want to show that match and yes we know the Police want it at the most awkward time for fans to be able to get a decent drink beforehand…but it still doesn’t make it right. TV want all the benefits of a great atmosphere for their armchair audience but then try and make it as difficult as possible for the match-going fans to provide it.

The other three matches to move, all beamed out live on SKY are;

Monday 12th March 8pm Arsenal (Away)

Sunday 25th March 4pm West Brom (Away)

Sunday 1st April 1.30pm Liverpool (Home)

By the time we play Liverpool, Newcastle will have been live on TV seventeen times (could be nineteen if get through to FA Cup rounds 5 and 6…)

Of course though, we aren’t one of the big clubs….
