Newcastle United – Points Make Places

As we reach halfway it is interesting to compare how things stand with last season.

At the moment Newcastle United have 30 points but how many will we add on the home stretch up until May?

We’ve had a look back at last season’s final placings and it makes interesting reading.

Another 30 points would have given us a final placing of 6^th last season, on the other hand if we only get 15 more points then 45 points would have seen us in 15^th position last season.

In fact based on last time, every five points we add from a total of 50 would have given an extra place in the table;

45 Points (15^th) 50 Points (8^th), 55 Points (7^th), 60 Points (6^th), 65 Points (5^th) and 70 Points (4^th).

So basically the statistics confirm what we all pretty much knew already, to finish above the mediocre doesn’t take a miracle but if you aspire to better things then every position up the table has to be fought for.

Where do you see us in May, the optimist in me says around 55 Points and 7^th, the pessimist says…..
