Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye has been charged with violent conduct following an incident in The FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Brighton.

TV replays highlighted Cabaye involved in an incident with Brighton’s Adam El-Abd during the FA Cup tie at the Amex Stadium on Saturday 28 January.

Cabaye has until 6pm on Tuesday 31 January 2012 to respond to the charge.

I’d be very surprised if our French playmaker doesn’t appeal as having seen the TV replays I think it’s impossible for anybody to be sure that Cabaye intended any contact with the Brighton Player.

Yohan Cabaye fell to the floor and his foot does make contact as he himself is fouled but to me proving intent can’t be shown.

Though with the TV witch hunts we get these days then once the ball is set rolling it can become very hard to get a fair hearing.

The only violent conduct I noticed was the disgusting foul by El-Abd in the first place!  If the useless linesman had done his job and flagged that up it would have been a free kick to Yohan and a yellow card for El-Abd.  It was never an intentional kick by Yohan anyway…

Ray Stubbs behaviour on ESPN was a disgrace.  John Barnes actually answered his question about the intent/non-intent of Cabaye’s ‘flick of the foot’ but Stubbs asked the same question at least another 2 times as if Barnes’ answer wasn’t the right one.
Let’s face it, if Simpson’s great tackle was a yellow then the first half tackle on Cabaye was defo a red so let’s review that one too!!
The FA are so inconsistent it’s embarrassing.  If you remember they appealed Rooney’s blatant kick on an opponent for England and managed to get a 3 game ban in the upcoming Euro’s reduced to 2 games.
Newcastle United Will Never Be Defeated…no matter how many people try to knock us, Mr Stubbs and The FA be warned!!

ESPN made a big thing of Cabayes kick out at the Brighton player on the
deck comparing it with Balotellis last week with Chris “pelanty” Waddle
going along with it……..(my comment on saturday night on the mag) your dead right Horsey
