Cabaye Charged With Violent Conduct
Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye has been charged with violent conduct following an incident in The FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Brighton.
TV replays highlighted Cabaye involved in an incident with Brighton’s Adam El-Abd during the FA Cup tie at the Amex Stadium on Saturday 28 January.
Cabaye has until 6pm on Tuesday 31 January 2012 to respond to the charge.
I’d be very surprised if our French playmaker doesn’t appeal as having seen the TV replays I think it’s impossible for anybody to be sure that Cabaye intended any contact with the Brighton Player.
Yohan Cabaye fell to the floor and his foot does make contact as he himself is fouled but to me proving intent can’t be shown.
Though with the TV witch hunts we get these days then once the ball is set rolling it can become very hard to get a fair hearing.
