A Place In The Sun For Newcastle Utd
Newcastle United flew off to Tenerife for a pre-planned break to recharge the batteries last weekend.
I think it shows the respect the manager and players have built up over this season that despite conceding five at Craven Cottage, I don’t think I’ve seen any negative comments along the lines of…’Get paid all that money and get a holiday as well…should be running up and down the beach at Whitley Bay after that performance….and so on’.
Alan Pardew could see only positives when he spoke to the club’s official TV channel;
“I came here in the summer to view the place, and it’s fantastic – really top notch.
We are out here on the back of a disappointing result, which isn’t ideal, but it is nice to have a break and bring us all together.
After that result we needed it, just to go over a few things in the next couple of days”.
Whether a refresher like this break will equal positive results remains to be seen but I don’t think it will do any harm. Like me no doubt most of you will have gone away for the weekend and it lifts your spirits from the drudgery of your daily routine, though I hope they’ll not be having ten pints and a curry every night!
