In Reserve

When the Newcastle United second string met Bolton on Tuesday, both Tamas Kadar and Mike Williamson made appearances.

I’ve always been quite impressed with Kadar’s odd first team showings, even when he filled in at left back a couple of times. Obviously the current management appear not to rate him as he wasn’t even on the bench at Norwich…you might have heard a rumour we were a little short of centre-backs at Carrow Road.

Kadar played the full ninety minutes but even if Coloccini doesn’t make Saturday it would be very surprising to see the Hungarian catapulted into the team from nowhere.

Similarly, I just can’t see how Williamson could be considered on the back of the forty five minutes he put in against Bolton reserves.

Where that seems to leaves us if the Captain doesn’t return is….back to square one!
