Match Preview – Manchester City v Newcastle United
Saturday 19 November 2011 3pm

We have heard a rumour that Carlos Tevez might not be available…..but surely this match from our perspective will be all about who Newcastle United put out on the pitch and how they focus on the match.

Cabaye appears to be coming back from international duty with a clean bill of health, while with Cheick Tiote now definitely out it gives Guthrie a massive opportunity to build on some promising performances and win a new contract?.

It has to be see as a given that Manchester City will edge possession but with Newcastle’s defensive record we have to go with a confidence that our eleven have every chance of matching their flair players. The size of their squad dictates that even if the struggling Nasri misses out they have a wealth of talent to cover that.

Our betting partner BET365 currently are offering a double your money offer when you open an account, your first deposit matched by them – up to a maximum of £200!

If you take advantage of this special offer then our top tip is the draw @ 4-1 which looks cracking value as despite scoring goals for fun, City have conceded in seven of their eleven league matches including conceding twice against QPR, Bolton and Fulham.

As for first goalscorer we don’t think you need to look further than the 11-1 @ BET365 for Demba Ba to score first, he’s in great form and has a good chance of taking any penalty (though after last season’s referee debacle we shouldn’t hold out too much hope) awarded, plus the added bonus of a cancelled international match in midweek.

On the BET365 ‘specials’ why not have a go with small stakes on the Toon winning both halves at a mouthwatering 50-1.

Last year the team emerged with much credit and that’s all we ask this time. Bad luck and shocking decisions cost us big time on that last occasion, this time it could be payback.

It will be interesting to see how Pardew sets the team up tactically. I have a feeling he may spring a surprise with his selection. I think we’ll do well – a draw at least.
Congratulations on the web site by the way – looking forward to it a lot.

I think this will be the game that will define whether or not Mr Pardew knows anything about football management.Get your tactics right Alan and maybe just maybe all of these match of the day / soccer sat pundits might give you the credit you derserve.

It wont do anything of the sort – unless we agree that there 6:1 howking of Man Utd defined Fergie’s knowledge of football. Pardew will be defined over the season – not the next 3 games.

  • City edge possession? Just a bit. I read a stat that they’re averaging 20 shots per game this season. If we get a point then its the performance of the season for me.
