Newcastle Grab Their First Goal Of The World Cup – Video Special

It has taken a few matches but Newcastle United have at last grabbed their first goal of the Brazil World Cup finals.

Two late Switzerland goals failed to dampen the spirits of France, who are now looking real contenders on the back of a 5-2 trouncing of the Swiss, who are actually ranked sixth in the World.

It was Moussa Sissoko who got his name up in lights for Newcastle, his 73 minute goal making it 5-0 at that point, the result of some exhilarating and penetrative play by the likes of Debuchy, Cabaye and Sissoko, all three playing the full ninety minutes.

SIssoko’s composed strike which you can watch below, followed earlier goals by Giroud, Matuidi, Valbuena and Benzema.

This powerful French display a world away from England’s lame departure, with every chance Costa Rica will make it three defeats in a row for Stevie G and the boys.
