Adam Armstrong picks his best ever England goal – Video special

Newcastle United and England striker Adam Armstrong has been talking to the official FA website after he scored the winner against Poland on Saturday, a 3-2 victory away from home.

The Geordie striker now has 16 goals in 21 England appearances but says that he aims for a goal a game.

While when it comes to his favourite ever England goal, it was a thirty five yard special which you can watch below – the Newcastle forward scores the second goal as well in this footage which isn’t too bad either!

Adam Armstrong also talks about what a dream it would be if he could get to Wembley this season with Newcastle United…

Goal target;

“The target is to score every match, and if you can score one a game then that’s a bonus but it’s also important to create chances for your team.

“Luckily I’ve been able to score quite a few goals while I’ve been away with England to go with those I’ve scored at Newcastle as well, so it’s been good.”

Best ever England goal;

“I have got a few now, but my favourite goal with England was this time last year in the European Championship qualifiers for the U17s against Gibraltar. I just smashed it from 35 yards and it flew into the top corner.”

Possibility of getting to the League Cup final with Newcastle;

“It would be class.

“The club hasn’t been to Wembley in my lifetime, so for me to be a part of the squad that’s fighting to get there is fantastic ….we would love to do it for the fans.”

Adam Armstrong isn’t exactly right as Newcastle have indeed been to Wembley three times since he arrived into this world, though all three were defeats! The 1998 and 1999 FA Cup finals and also the 2000 FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Here’s hoping his dream comes true and he scores a goal like the one below in the League Cup final this season.
