‘Shola Ameobi Is An Inspiration’
Nigeria boss Stephen Keshi has revealed he is counting on Shola Ameobi being an inspiration to the young players in his squad.
Keshi going on to say that Shola’s experience in the Premier League is a valuable asset when approaching this World Cup.
Shola’s contribution on and off the pitch is also registered;
“Shola is the consummate professional and he is a leader on and off the pitch, his experience is invaluable to the team.
“I’ve got a young team and we need somebody like him to guide and inspire as he’s played at the highest level for so long.”
There appears to be an increasing possibility of Ameobi starting when Nigeria kick off their Brazil campaign against Iran on Monday 16 June.
Shola has also been talking about arriving on sunny Tyneside as a kid;
“For a few years we struggled to pull the strings together and fit in.
“It took a while to be accepted, we looked different and we lived differently, I still remember the shock of the cold.”
