Rival Manager Rates Newcastle Team Of The Season

In the lead up to Saturday’s match at Wigan, Roberto Martinez has been bigging up Newcastle United.

A manager with meagre resources but who likes his teams to play football, the likeable Martinez knows his side are in for a tough challenge but it is a game that could be a cracker with both clubs looking to play.

As well as talking about this crucial match for both teams, Martinez revealed that he believed the title of ‘team of the year’ should go to either Newcastle United or whoever wins the league. You can’t say fairer than that!

Talking about Alan Pardew’s team, Martinez also said: “We know Newcastle United are an outstanding football team and whatever happens it has been an incredible season for them”.

In an intriguing season right throughout the Premier League season there had been talk of Brendan Rodgers or Paul Lambert possibly deserving the title but with Newcastle currently nineteen points ahead of the two promoted clubs who are in mid-table, I find it a rather dubious argument now.

Rising above the relegation zone is commendable for both teams but for anybody making the leap into possible Champions League qualification with all the financial advantage the elite few have, would be quite remarkable.
