Pardew Injury Update After Swansea

As well as another really poor result and performance, Alan Pardew has given an injury update following another couple biting the dust during the Swansea match.

Both Luuk De Jong and Papiss Cisse were forced off after what looked innocuous incidents initially.

Now the Newcastle manager has updated on the pair;

“Luuk’s is not too bad but Papiss looks a little bit worse and I think he’s going to have a scan to see how his knee is.”

While I don’t think anybody will be bothered if they don’t see De Jong in a black and white shirt again, with Papiss Cisse looking likely to be the only striker still standing next season of the current lot at Newcastle United (plus the untried youngster Adam Armstrong), it leaves an even bigger conundrum as fans wonder just what ‘plan’ Ashley and Pardew will come up with to cure a team that can’t score goals.

Cisse has looked a bit livelier in recent weeks though not threatened the goal much, not helped by almost on-existent service.

If we don’t see him again in these remaining matches then it just adds yet another negative to the mess at St.James’ Park.
