NUFC To Fight Italians For Midfielder?

Reports in the Dutch press claim that Newcastle United have been watching midfielder Nemanja Gudelj.

Currently playing for NAC Breda, he has scored 4 goals in 59 appearances and also scored twice for the Serbian Under 21s.

Gudelj can also play right-back/centre-back and standing at over 6ft 1 he has a physical presence.

Dutch football magazine Voetbal International report that NUFC scouts have watched the player, including Breda’s last match which was a three goal defeat to ADO Den Haag.

The player was on the verge of signing for Fiorentina in the summer transfer window but the appointment of his father as Breda’s head coach apparently tipped the balance for him to stay a bit longer.

Any young players Newcastle are linked with in Holland could have potential as wages aren’t a problem and moving from a not so glamorous club in the Dutch league to the English Premier League would have massive pull.
