Davide Santon Finding It Tough To Leave Home

It is all too easy to let Newcastle United’s paralysis in the transfer market drag you down into total doom and gloom.

However, while we wait to hear where players such as Papiss Cisse and Yohan Cabaye will be come September, with one of our best players there is no doubt.

Newcastle United's Davide SantonDespite countless attempts by the Italian press and AC Milan to unsettle Davide Santon, it looks as though at last they are conceding defeat.

The defender has been speaking to fcinternews.it back in Italy and this is what he had to say;

“I love Newcastle and on the 31st May I had my daughter here, spending the whole summer in England apart from one week in Italy.

This is my home now and my family is here, I can’t wait to start the new season.

Everything’s different here and when I left Italy I had to spend two months getting accustomed to everything – the weather is different and of course the Premier League is different.”

Maybe we should make it a requirement that every signing has to acquire a Geordie wife/girlfriend and have a Geordie baby as soon as possible after arriving on Tyneside. I might mention it to JFK next time I see him…

    JFK might offer to have the babies for the new signings, he’ll just phone God up and make sure theres no problem first.

    “What is a club in any case?”

    “Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it.

    It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes.”

    “It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.”

    “It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”

    Bobby Robson.

    Well said Bobby
