Claims Of Kuwait Deal To Buy Newcastle United

There are claims tonight from Kuwait that a deal is under way to buy Newcastle United, a story broken by The Kuwait Times…..

‘Sources at Kuwait’s Arabi Club yesterday said that its Chairman Jamal Al-Kazemi is “seriously thinking of buying the British Newcastle United football club”. They explained that “he has finalized all conditions that enable him to acquire the club by next week”. The actual negotiations with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley will be clear,” they said. Incidentally, Ashley has wanted to sell the club since 2009. He bought the club known as “Magpies” in 2007 for £134.4 million and it is said that he is willing to sell it for less than £80 million’.

Don’t really know what to add but we thought it would be remiss not to put it in front of you.

The price of £80m seems very unrealistic…unless it meant he was gaining that on top of having the debts he is owed by Newcastle United paid back as well.

With Newcastle United never say never about anything.

oooooooooooo this cud be interesting for the fans. get fat boy out or keep him cos its workin now hahaha

  • RSNUFC

MA may not be everyone’s favourite guy but you can’t argue with the way he is currently managing our club. Getting great value for money with new signings and the policy of paying all transfer fees upfront can only be good for not saddling the club with debts it can’t afford. Feel a bit apprehensive about any new owner coming in – the club seems to be in a pretty settled state of affairs at the moment and I for one would not like to see the boat rocked!

No way do I want to support an Arab’s plaything – or a Russky criminal  or a Yank rounders franchise owner either.  Fat Mike has won me over – even with Dekka.  They may be bastards but they’re our bastards, and the state of the club now, its business model, and the direction its going in, is everything we could have dreamed of.  I want to see how far Pardew and Carver and Carr and everyone else can take us – not see it all demolished and go back to spending stupid money on utter mercenary shitehawks like Owen, or some Italian parachuted in as manager.  I just hope Ashley is now so enjoying himself that he will tell the fuckers to fuck right off back to their camel racing.

Great comment, made me chuckle, you could go far!

  • Bobthedodge

I would like to know more before I we say bye bye to fat Mike. I think at this stage I would stick with current owner and see how far he can take us. Once we have peaked and cant go any further then its time to sell.

Just remember one thing and thats Mike does not like to lose money only to make it and if Newcastle is starting to turn things around and make some money he will stick with it unless he gets an silly offer ie £200m+

TRY 300 MIL PLUS MA IS RUTHLESS IN BIZNESS N AS FOR 80 MILL HAHA THERES NE WAY HED SELL F THAT I SAY KEEP ASHLEY W DOING FINE AT THE MIN

  • Tonsb818

Haha, 80 million? Hahaha, like MA would sell the club with a loss of 100 million… Dumbest story ever!

  • NUFC4EVER

You can enjoy mid-table. I will gladly support a club that can afford a free transfer (Hoilett).

If you haven’t noticed, clubs are not willing to sell cheap to us any longer. We need money.

  • Aggaz

MA is doing a fantastic job the club is going in the right direction so it wouldnt suprise me if there is a new owner going to take us over. Hope it isnt true

  • Azareef

this is probably someone just getting us confused with nottingham forest

    • Pete

Are YOU not confusing Nottingham Forrest with Notts County?

      • Azareef

Na mate, forest have been taken over tonight by someone from kuwait

        • Brontosaurus

It’s a different person to the guy we’re being linked with.

  • Perry

To be fair , if they could turn us into a man city and win the league i dont mind , football is just who has the most money now , mike has plently he just doesnt spend it

  • Mickmago

This story is clearly absolute dung. I’m not convinced anyone would stump up the money to pry the club from Ashley’s frugal fingers. Also as mentioned earlier, I think this guy was buying Nottingham forest.

  • Keithsaint

Load of crap he wouldnt sell for 100 million when we went down so 80 million with us in europe is pie in the sky.

I lived an worked in Kuwait for 8 years and this is not the first time Kuwaitis have shown interest.  My gut feeling though is that this might well be a bit of bluster, a knee jerk reaction to the fact that another Kuwaiti businessman bought Forest.  Appearances are all in the Gulf and so throwing a name like Newcastle out there might just have been an attempt to redress a perceived imbalance.  Not sure it’s the right response but such is the way of things there.

    here we go again zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Garybrooks2

Not a chance 52,000 crowds European football MA has turned us round

  • Sean

Are they getting Newcastle and Nottingham mixed up???

  • Jimi

personally i dont want anyone to buy newcastle as they’ve got the balance just right with fans happy, ashley happy and with very good staff and very happy players and we’re getting bk to the old days. bk in europe!!

  • GeordieBen

For once I’d rather have Mike Ashley.
For risks getting involved with foreign/unknown owners check Blackburn Rovers.

  • Micky_porter1989

anybody is better than Mike Ashley

  • Mightywyn

i would rather stick with ashley for now as we seem to be going in the right direction also we dont know how the eufa fairplay rules are going to effect football at the moment we are placed for it thanks to ashley

  • Kevin_gow1968

we dont need 2 sale the club at this time we do so gd last season got gd players ashley done really gd with is money so far

  • peter
