Alan Pardew Asks For The Impossible

FabricioColoccini10When the final whistle blew on the victory over Queens Park Rangers, Alan Pardew made a very public show of striding onto the pitch to embrace his captain, Fabricio Coloccini.

Afterwards he explained why;

“I just said to him (Coloccini) before he walked on the pitch; ‘look, we are both winner and we are allowed to fall out’. We fell out last week and we’re entitled to do that, as the captain and the manager. It was just a silly little thing and I know he was determined to get the result on Saturday.

I said to him before the match; ‘be our leader today, be a captain and make sure they don’t get a sniff of a goal. When you ask someone to do a job and they do it, it’s only right that you pay your respects to them.

He (Coloccini) was never off my Christmas card list because it wasn’t me who had the problem. I think Colo was a bit upset but I don’t want you (the media) to go searching for why”.

While it is never a good thing when there is anything negative between manager and captain, with the way our season has turned out then you are bound to have tensions.

KITBAG_SALEAlan Pardew has a habit of sometimes saying a little too much than he should for his own good.

As far as I know there hadn’t been a hint in the media of anything between the two of them but by now announcing it to the world, I can guarantee the next couple of days we will be told by the papers exactly what the dispute was.

How accurate the claims will be is anybody’s guess but the manager asking the press not to ‘searching for why’ is indeed asking for/expecting the impossible.

Look out for a press conference soon where Alan Pardew will be asked whether ‘such and such’ was why he and Coloccini had fallen out, so I wonder why he didn’t just nail it when he had the chance on the back of a vital win?

    Well I can guess it has something to do with the way Pardew has been setting the team up as regards to team selection and strategy.

    Do you think players as good as we have want to play in this diabolical football league style? Do you think Colo enjoys losing every week whilst seeing his team mates strangled by AP’s incompetence.

    In a dispute between these two…I know who I back.
