Southampton vs Newcastle Player Ratings – Independently Sourced

What were your Southampton vs Newcastle player ratings?

Interesting to get an outside perspective and the industry leader for an independent viewpoint is the whoscored rating system (used by numerous sections of the football industry; including media, bookmakers and clubs themselves).

Over 200 raw statistics are used to calculate the player ratings and are weighted according to influence in the game – taking into account the area of the pitch and its outcome for each important event.

The fact that not one Newcastle player got a higher rating than the lowest score for any of the Southampton starting eleven, sums up just how bad this match was.

It wasn’t that a few players had an off day, Southampton were a class above in every department.

Massadio Haidara was the only one who came out of it with a bit of respect and one of the few bright spots of the games so far, is that even Alan Pardew has belatedly realised that playing Dummett ahead of the Frenchman is ludicrous.

As for his defensive colleagues; Colo, Krul and Williamson in particular, they were shocking. At times like this you need your most established players to show an example to the rest, instead they were the three worst players on the pitch.
