Pardew Says Kinnear Is Great News Without Even Moving His Lips

I’ve been trying to think of a football club that is run like Newcastle United and I’ve given up.

I think the closest thing is probably the odd national side from a country run as a dictatorship, where players are allegedly punished when they return from the World Cup in ‘disgrace’.

Skinchies!

As we speak there has still been no official announcement confirming Kinnear’s appointment, despite interviews with SKY, the Evening Chronicle and numerous ones to come no doubt.

In addition, Alan Pardew hasn’t uttered a word, there again why should he when he now has somebody who can do the job for him?

Speaking to the Chronicle, JFK had this to say;

“Before I had meeting with Mike, Derek (Llambias) said he’d informed Alan (Pardew) and Alan said,Great news, I am delighted with that. At last I’ve got somebody who is a football guy.’

Derek told me he’d had a long talk with Alan and explained that I am coming in as a director of football. He (Derek L) is going to go on the finance side and anything to do with football is coming my side.

We (JFK & AP) are very open minded and good with each other, I’ve the utmost respect for him and I cannot see any problems between the two of us.

We always bump into each other at the Manager of the Year awards. Last year, I was at the awards when Alan won it. I said, ‘Congratulations but you have to get two more to catch me!.

Joe has actually won the LMA Manager of the Year award, it was the 1993/94 season with Wimbledon. Maybe the other two (he hasn’t won) were awarded by JFK to himself for our relegation season and then maybe he believes he should share Alan Pardew’s as it was his (Joe’s) team that Pardew had inherited.

As for Joe Kinnear’s claims that Alan Pardew thinks his appointment is ‘Great News’, well I think there might be as many of you think that is the case as believe that Joe did in reality win three LMA Manager of the Year awards.
