Pardew ‘A Win Against Fulham And We’ve Had A Decent Start’

Alan Pardew is looking at his glass being more than half full after the win at Morecame IF Newcastle beat Fulham on Saturday.

Despite the League Cup win, the league table makes worrying reading with only one point fro two games and lying third from bottom.

Looking forward to Saturday though, this is what Alan Pardew had to say to NUFC TV;

“Tonight takes the pressure off us a little bit and if we get a win against Fulham then I consider that a decent start; got through the League Cup and 4 points from those 3 games because they weren’t easy. But we have to win first and our fans, who were brilliant by the way tonight, can hopefully help us do that on Saturday.”

If I hadn’t seen the performances against Manchester City and West Ham I might be sleeping a little more comfortably but to watch those matches and Newcastle’s only ‘shot’ on target a speculative long range effort from Tiote, you can’t help but worry.

Against Morecambe Newcastle struggled to create chances until Ben Arfa came on and I can’t see Fulham coming with as negative an attitude as Fat Sam’s Hammers, so if Newcastle don’t score then I see only one result…

Four points would be ok but anything else is potentially disastrous because home matches against the likes of Fulham and West Ham are surely two of the nine or ten most winnable matches in our fixtures.
