Newcastle United Put Out Two Key Messages Via Sky

Newcastle United have put out two key messages via their friends at Sky Sports.

The unhealthy relationship between the football club and the broadcaster, means that as well as getting all the scoops on transfers, Sky also put out propaganda on behalf of the club and help them get the party line out to the fans and rest of the media.

Sky’s man in the north east, Keith Downie, has put out the official Mike Ashley/Newcastle United line after the latest goings on at Southampton on Saturday.

Downie revealed that if there is any punishment for John Carver following his altercation with Newcastle fans before kick-off at the weekend, it will be dealt with behind closed doors and not made public.

For the vast majority of supporters I’m assuming this will be totally unacceptable if Carver was in the wrong, especially when the incident involved fans, the people who pay John Carver’s and the rest’s wages, and had traveled the length of the country to watch the rubbish that the Newcastle coach had helped serve up.

The second message Sky put out on behalf of Ashley is that where Alan Pardew’s position is concerned, it will be ‘business as usual’, with the manager’s position not under threat.

Hmmm, maybe not the best choice of words after a four goal demolition, your club rock bottom of the Premier League and only five wins since Boxing Day.
