De Jong Named In Newcastle Starting Eleven Against Crystal Palace
Alan Pardew has named his Newcastle starting eleven as he attempts to land his first Premier League win of the season against Crystal Palace.
Having named the same eleven players for the matches against Manchester City and Aston Villa, all eyes were on whether Pardew would give Siem De Jong his first start in the Premier League.
The Newcastle manager had declared that the Dutch attacking midfielder was no more than 80% or 90% fit but desperate to add creativity to his team, Pardew has included De Jong in the following line-up for this afternoon’s match, with Haidara the other change in place of Dummett;
Krul, Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, Haidara, Gouffran, Sissoko, Colback, Cabella, De Jong, Riviere
On the bench Pardew has named;
Elliot, Dummett, Steven Taylor, Anita, Obertan, Aarons, Perez
With still no sign of on-loan forward Facundo Ferreyra.
