Newcastle Midfielder Says He Loves The Club And Fans But Accepts He Might Have To Leave

When the Newcastle United [intlink id=”45048″ type=”post”]twenty four man squad [/intlink]to travel to New Zealand was announced, if your name wasn’t on it then the writing must be on the wall, which certainly seems the case for Gael Bigirimana.

Two seasons ago, Bigirimana looked one of the few bright spots for Newcastle in a dismal season, making twenty three appearances after making his debut as an eighteen year old.

The midfielder looked a real player in the making but then Alan Pardew didn’t give him a single minute of pitch time in the Premier League last season, a baffling decision for most fans, especially with dead wood such as Dan Gosling getting games ahead of him and other young players.

Gael Bigirimana was left on Tyneside (along with other unwanted players such as Ben Arfa and Marveaux) while others such as Haris Vuckic and Adam Campbell made the trip, players who to me don’t have half as much promise as the midfielder.

Speaking to the Shields Gazette, it looks as though Gael Bigirimana is also now accepting that writing on the wall;

“Sometimes you find yourself at the top of the world in football, and very soon you find yourself at the bottom of the world.

“I love the club and I love the fans, but if the manager doesn’t see you in his plans then there is nothing you can do, but see if you can get some games and then see what the future holds.

“I am not a person who goes around saying this or that if the manager’s changed his mind – if he has then that’s his decision.

“Things were looking brighter but things can change quickly.

“You have got to be strong and you just have to go somewhere where you can get games.”
