New Injury Blow For Newcastle United
It has now been revealed that Jack Colback wasn’t rested against Gillingham in Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup win, with the midfielder actually an injury blow for Newcastle United.
[intlink id=”46522″ type=”post”]Alan Pardew made six changes from the side[/intlink] that played Villa, with Colback and the suspended Mike Williamson enforced ones.
The Shields Gazette has reported that the Newcastle manager makes the ex-Sunderland player also doubtful for Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace.
If the player is struggling for this Saturday’s home match then with a two week international break following, normal common sense would suggest letting Colback miss it and get himself sorted for the next game at Southampton.
However, Colback has arguably been United’s best player in the two Premier League matches and with confusion reigning as to exactly what is happening with Cheick Tiote, Alan Pardew will be desperate to have at least one of them on the pitch for what some people will already see as a must win game for the manager to relieve pressure.
