Ryan Taylor continued with his Newcastle United comeback on Monday afternoon, getting more competitive minutes under his belt.

The Newcastle Under 21s (reserves) had a number of players with first team experience as Haris Vuckic, Gael Bigirimana and Rob Elliot joined Taylor in the starting eleven. On-loan mystery man Facundo Ferreyra also started up front.

However, it was visitors Brighton who took the lead through Rea on twenty minutes in this behind closed doors at the Darsley Park training complex.

A few minutes before half-time though it was all square, Haris Vuckic seeing his effort handled on the line by defender Dallison-Lisbon. Brighton reduced to ten men when the red card was produced and Ryan Taylor supplying the successful spot-kick.

Ten minutes into the second period and Ryan Taylor was again involved in a United goal. His corner was flicked on by Satka and Vuckic this time got his goal without any stray hand intervening.

Just after the hour mark it was three as Callum Roberts broke at pace and Barlaser finished off the move, then things got even worse for the visitors when with fifteen minutes to go they had Danny Pappoe red carded after an off the ball incident.

Newcastle United: Elliot, Ryan Taylor, Satka, Williams, Gillesphey, Barlaser, Bigirimana, Gilliead, Vuckic, Roberts, Ferreyra

Subs: McKinnon, Mbabu, Olley, Kemen, Heardman>
