Mike Williamson ‘It was just a difficult night with scrappy goals’

Mike Williamson was once again wheeled out to face the cameras after the four goal Tottenham defeat and to fair to him, just what could he say?

He gave the usual unfortunate to go behind etc etc but I think it is a bit of a struggle to accept his assessment of ‘just a difficult night with scrappy goals’.

Especially his description of the second goal, when it was Williamson whose job it was to stop Chadli getting his shot in.

However, while I think Williamson can’t hack it in the Premier League, I do give him big credit as a person to come out and speak for the team to the media.

Especially with as usual no sign of Captain Fabricio Coloccini when somebody needs to speak to the cameras. This to me is totally unacceptable as a Captain has to show leadership on AND off the pitch.

I wouldn’t care but the quotes below are from Mike Williamson spoke to the club’s own TV channel, so there are hardly going to be any tricky questions asked.

Mike Williamson;

“I thought we were unfortunate to go behind, they had the quality and finished their chances off and we didn’t.

“It’s a bad time (first minute of 2nd half) for anyone to concede a goal. It was just a difficult night with scrappy goals.”

It’s a tough placed to come;

“It was frustrating because it (2nd goal) went through Colo’s legs I think, Jak had it if it hadn’t taken a deflection.

“It’s a tough place to come and when you get little things like that go against you it’s hard.”
