Jack Colback Signing Confirmed With Photos At St.James’ Park

After increasing speculation as to his next club, Sunderland’s Jack Colback has been photographed at St.James’ Park, standing pitchside posing for photos holding a Newcastle shirt.

Photo such as the one below have circulated on social media and appear to have been taken by a club employee.

This is another less than professional release of news of a Newcastle signing, following the Ayoze Perez episode where the Spanish second division striker was photographed by a friend when being shown around SJP by Peter Beardsley, the images again ending up on Twitter etc.

I’m guessing Colback will be seen as a steady rather than spectacular signing, Sunderland fans I know all seem to think he is a decent player.

However, we do already seem to have a very full quota of midfielders who don’tr score many goals, so Colback’s four goals in 115 league appearances isn’t a great advance on what Anita, Tiote, Sissoko etc give us.

As for his background as a Newcastle fan who ended up playing for Sunderland, most fans will purely judge him on what he does on the pitch, as has been the case when the likes of Paul Bracewell and Barry Venison made their moves.

A five year contract has been speculated and the 24 year old is clearly a decent age to be coming into the club, good luck as you return to your natural home.
