Hatem Ben Arfa Situation – What The French Public Are Saying

It is deadline day and unless something dramatic happens at the last minute, it looks like Alan Pardew and Hatem Ben Arfa are going be stuck with each other at least until the new year.

Newcastle fans are divided with nobody quite sure how many stand on each side of the Ben Arfa divide.

What is clear, is that the longer Newcastle go on with only the faintest hint of creativity, the calls for bringing in Hatem from the cold will continue to grow.

However, we thought it would be interesting to get a French perspective and asked out top translator to check out what football fans are saying on the other side of the Channel.

It turns out feelings are just as mixed on the continent…

These are comments left by French football fans on the L’Equipe website regarding our genius/layabout;

He remains a good risk for any club, we all know his ability.

300 000 euros per month for rare individual exploits…

It is best for him to stay at Newcastle, especially as it is his last year of his contract. He will have more chance during the season to negotiate, starting from January, with interested clubs.

Unbelievable that no French club with a decent coach did not come in for him.

Once his career over he will be able to do ‘reality TV’ he will be brilliant at that!!!

He is right, instead of working hard at a crap club, why not take it easy for a year at Newcastle and choose his new club for the following season on his terms as he will be free.

At 27 he is not going to change, he does not respect anyone.

He remains the most exciting player that we have, should be in the French team!

What would be the point in recruiting a bloke like him but no doubt a club will come in for him and his agent will make another packet!

He is too weak to play in the Turkish league.

There will be many stupid clubs that will sign him next year.

What a shame, a great left foot but no neurons. Announced as a great future player…though he still remains a good footballer

AC Milan seems to collect all the rubbish lately…why did they not come for him?

We have often blamed his circle (of advisers) but I think it is him, he is thick!

Very impulsive and lacking direction but I still can’t believe that a French club did not try to get him.

PSG will go for him next year!
