Exclusive: Newcastle United Confirm Direct Debit Season Tickets Can Still Be Cancelled

Share

Newcastle United season ticket direct debits can still be cancelled and fans have until the end of this month (February) to do so.

One determined fan has kept at it and after numerous emails/letters to the club has got to the bottom of what the true situation is – here is the trail of emails back and forward.

Dear Mag,

Following the horrendous running of the football club, and recent events/results I decided enough was enough.

I unfortunately missed the deadline of 31st January to cancel my Multi Year season ticket. Still I wrote a letter and emailed the box office. (letter attached)

Below is the turn of events that followed. It led to the box office informing me that if I cancel my direct debit, there is nothing they can do about it, and as long as I cancel before the next payment is due (beginning of March) I can still use my season ticket till the end of the 2013/14 season.

Naturally things have got worse since the deadline of the 31st Jan came and passed. Please feel free to use the content of this email to inform fans that it’s not too late to show their displeasure at the running of the club and they can get out of the contract without any comebacks.

If you would like to use this content I would appreciate it if you didn’t use names from either party.

Kind regards

?????????

Subject: Cancellation my Multi Year Price Season Ticket for the season 2014/15.

Good morning,

I wrote to you back in January (Letter below)) Re cancelling my Multi Year Price Season Ticket for the season 2014/15.

I asked in the letter, that I could kindly receive confirmation of my cancelation. I still haven’t received anything.

I spoke to a friend of mine, who mentioned that he cancelled via email, to this address.

Could you kindly confirm that you received my previous letter, and that the cancellation is processed and no further Direct Debits for the forthcoming season will come from my account?

Kind regards

Hi there,

We responded to every letter we received in the office prior to the 31st January

I’m sorry we are unable to cancel your season ticket, as per our terms and conditions all cancellations had to be received in writing no later than 31st January

Hi ??????,

Thank you for your reply.

As I mentioned in my initial email, the first letter was sent to you on 5th Jan 2014. However I still haven’t received a response.

Your email below is the only communication I have had from the club with regards getting out of my contract. Naturally I’m very disappointed by your response.

Can I please ask what terms are in place if I simply cancel my Direct Debit?

I look forward to your response.

Kind regards
??????

Hi Mr ??????,

Thank you for the politeness of your emails its much appreciated. Whilst the terms are still in place if you have cancelled your direct debit there is nothing we can do about it as we don’t use a credit rating scheme!

Kind regards,

Good afternoon ?????,

No need to thank me, my issue is with the running of the club, not the staff that work for it. I appreciate you guys are doing a job, the same as the rest of us.

??????, can I please ask if I was to cancel the DD, would it affect my entry to the ground for the remainder for this season? The reason I ask is I’m sure payment is taken in arrears.

Have a good weekend.
Kind regards
??????

Hi there,

This season’s ticket will not be affected. Your final payment for this season is this month (February). You start and pay for the 2014/15 season ticket in March.
