Deschamps drops Cabella but gives Mapou the nod

Didier Deschamps has called up Moussa Sissoko for his usual spot in the national squad for games against Albania and Sweden.

However, a lack of pitch time for Newcastle appears to have cost Remy Cabella his place in the French set-up.

Cabella last started a Newcastle game over five weeks ago and only played around forty five minutes of club football throughout the whole of October.

However, after being exiled by Alan Pardew, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa’s impressive form for AS Roma has ensured his place, with the expectation over the Channel that he is very likely to start at least one of the two upcoming friendlies.

Yohan Cabaye keeps his place despite an in and out existence at PSG.

The likes of Gignac, Lacazette and Payet, who have all been linked wit Newcastle in recent times, are also included.

Goalkeepers: Lloris (Tottenham), Mandanda (Marseille), Costil (Rennes)

Defenders: Digne (PSG), Jallet (Lyon), Mangala (Manchester City), Sagna (City), Varane (Real Madrid), Yanga-Mbiwa (Roma), Trémoulinas (Séville), Perrin (Saint-Etienne)

Midfielders: Cabaye (PSG), Matuidi (PSG), Pogba (Juventus), Schneiderlin (Southampton), Sissoko (Newcastle), Guilavogui (Wolfsburg)

Strikers: Benzema (Real Madrid), Gignac (Marseille), Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Payet (Marseille), Valbuena (Dynamo Moscou), Lacazette (Lyon)
