Daryl Janmaat Move To Newcastle – Agreement In Principle Reached Claims
Newcastle United are reported to have made an agreement in principle to sign Daryl Janmaat once Holland’s participation in Brazil is at an end.
The Feyenoord right-back played in the wins against Spain, Chile and Australia, though he has sat out the last two matches including Tim Krul’s incredible moment on the World stage on Saturday.
Janmaat turns twenty five later this month and there had been rumours of Louis Van Gaal taking the player to Old Trafford though these have now been dismissed.
Interest from Napoli is also now said to have come to a dead end with respected Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reporting as an exclusive, that Newcastle have beaten the Serie A side to Janmaat’s signature after holding talks with the Dutch player’s representatives.
The defender moved to Feyenoord from Heerenveen on a free two years ago as an out of contract player. If the deal is completed, Newcastle will be getting a player who has averaged two or three goals a season in the Dutch league and when it comes to discipline he only averages three or four yellow cards a season, which is a bit of a departure from Mathieu Debuchy.
A signing of a [intlink id=”44596″ type=”post”]credible replacement for the seemingly sure to depart Debuchy[/intlink], will at least give some reassurance that Mike Ashley isn’t simply selling Newcastle’s better players and then juggling the existing playing staff.
Holland next play on Wednesday against Argentina and with the final on Sunday, we’ll soon find out if this player will indeed be Debuchy’s replacement.
