With Newcastle United in a great run of form, positive news with Fabricio Coloccini staying at St.James’ Park according to an article he has done for Spanish media giants Marca.

The Newcastle captain talked about what happened back in January, his boyhood dream, hopes for Newcastle this season and who he fancies for the World Cup

“The Newcastle win at Old Trafford after 41 years is very special, a day to remember.

“Newcastle United’s goal this season is top 10 but we are aiming for Europe.

“Brazil are always there (World Cup) and France could also get to the final stages despite having had to qualify from the play-offs – but Spain to me are the team in best shape.

“If I had to pick (best player in world) it would be Messi, he is by far the best player in the world. He has nothing more to prove, for six years he has proved himself game after game.

“Since I was 7 years old I haven’t stopped dreaming of lifting the World Cup, it would be the perfect end to my career. We have a nice team with good players, very good individuals and as a team we are working well.

“Earlier this year, for personal reasons, the possibility of returning to Argentina emerged. There was talk of San Lorenzo with me being a fan and the love I have for the club. However, I am now good at Newcastle and I have three more years of my contract to go.”
