‘Arry Redknapp Doing Newcastle A Favour?

While Newcastle look to send plenty of players out on loan, Mike Ashley has never been keen on bringing in players on that basis.

The case of Hatem Ben Arfa is the big exception to the rule although there appeared to be always an intention to try and make it a permanent arrangement if the move worked out.

HarryRedknapp3While at times teams such as the mackems have taken the loan system to outrageous lengths and had half a team on loan, the perception of Mike Ashley is that he would see it as a bit like renting a house/flat rather than buying it – money/investment down the drain as you give value to somebody else’s asset.

So it was interesting to see the club making clear via Sky Sports that they are looking to bring in Loic Remy on loan for a year.

QPR seem intent on doing everything they can to make sure of an instant Premier League return and apart from Samba leaving for £10m, there has been absolutely no sign of a fire sale which many imagined would be the case.

If extreme financial pressures aren’t there then it would seem strange if QPR were allowing their best striker to play elsewhere, then even stranger if they then put themselves in a position where they couldn’t claim Remy back in a year’s time if they are back in the big league.

Many things don’t add up and that is before you get to exactly who would be paying Remy’s reported £80k/£100k a week wages.

Harry Redknapp has indeed already had plenty to say about QPR loaning players out, or rather – NOT loaning players out.

This is what ‘Arry had to say about speculation surrounding two of his players going out on loan;

“I cannot see any sense in loaning Cesar for a year, he has three years left on his contract. What is the point in loaning him for a year and then getting him back on massive wages for another two years? If he wants to leave – we sell him.

There’s also talk about Taarabt going to Hull on loan, what is the good in that? If he wants to go then let somebody come and pay the money for him.”

    Maybe Redknapp fancies his chances when Pards finally gets the push……

    The complication with Remy is the rape investigation, it might that a loan is the best QPR can hope for, at least until Jan. Would anyone pay out 7/8m and the wage commitments with that hanging over him? They could always just keep him, though I can’t see him wanting to play in the championship before a world cup. Don’t think nufc will pay his wage though, even on loan.
