Alan Pardew Sends Message To Mike Ashley Regarding Missing Remy and Yohan Cabaye

Interviewed today in advance of the Crystal Palace match, Alan Pardew was asked about the goalscorer situation, or rather the lack of them.

The Newcastle manager again pointed to the over-reliance on Loic Remy who he stated as being ‘not our player’.

Pardew also stated that the departure of Yohan Cabaye has also been a major blow to the team’s goals and creativity. The hope must be that the Newcastle manager must follow up this very public announcement to Mike Ashley by making clear this summer that without quality goalscorers and a playmaker, Newcastle are heading for massive problems. The Newcastle manager mentioning the options he has got available, more in hope than expectation.

“It is a major point for us because Loic Remy is not our player and he has scored most of our goals.

“We are struggling to score goals without him, especially since Cabaye’s left.

“So it really is a process where we are looking for somebody to step up and get the goals and there will certainly be no Loic this weekend.

“So we are looking at Papiss, Hatem, Luuk, Gouff to come up with the goals.”

At least the manager didn’t mention Shola as a possible scorer so at least he was keeping his comments within some kind of realistic framework.

I’d be amazed if he played Ben Arfa but it surely is worth a chance with no creativity across the whole midfield.

Maybe Gouffran is worth bringing into a more central role as at least he has six Premier League goals this season. As for Cisse and De Jong they look to be really struggling in front of goal.
