Alan Pardew has insisted that there is a really strong spirit in the Newcastle squad and it is the kind of thing ‘You don’t make up’.

However, the Newcastle boss claims that his players were up against raised spirits from the opposition thanks to the arrival of a new manager.

Pardew claiming that Neil Warnock was the difference in Palace coming back to draw and bizarrely, he also gave them ‘extra impetus on the break’.

Alan Pardew talking after the final whistle;

“I think there is a really strong spirit (in the squad) – you don’t make these things up.

“They are either there or they’re not there.

“I do feel the spirit of the other team was helped by the new manager for sure.

“I don’t think three – two down they’d have come back without a new manager.

“The extra impetus on the break as well, we had to cope with that.

“It is very difficult in the Premier League to go a goal down, then go a second goal down, and still come back and find yourself in the lead.

“We had done all of the hard work and then kind of let it go.

“I feel sorry for the players, I think they worked really hard.

“I feel for our fans who have  seen a last minute goal again in a home game, after the Manchester City game.”
