26 Man Newcastle Squad To Tour New Zealand Is Missing Moussa Sissoko

New Zealand football fans are celebrating at the news that the Newcastle United squad named to travel down under next month, contains three of United’s World Cup stars, but not Moussa Sissoko, the reason as yet unknown.

However, both new signings, Ayoze Perez and Jack Colback, are both included.

The press in New Zealand have released details of the 26 man Newcastle squad, though they concede that the appearance of Debuchy, Krul and Tiote could depend on how far those players get in the World Cup.

The World Cup final is on Sunday 13 July, with Newcastle playing Australian side Sydney FC only nine days later in Dunedin. Then Wellington Phoenix four days later on 26 July in Wellington itself.

The provisional squad Newcastle have named is;

Krul, Alnwick, Elliot, Dummett, Mapou, Santon, Tavernier, Haidara, Williamson, Steven Taylor, Debuchy, Coloccini, Colback, Ferguson, Sammy Ameobi, Bigirimana, Obertan, Marveaux, Ben Arfa, Jonas, Gouffran, Anita, Tiote, Perez, Armstrong, Campbell

Obviously things look a ‘little’ light on the striker front at the moment, even if Cisse had been fit to travel.

Newcastle fans will hope that the squad will have a far different look come the start of the season and ideally by the time they fly to New Zealand.
