Stoke’s Manager Dismisses Newcastle United As a Top Team
Newcastle United have come a long way since being relegated. Not many would disagree that even though our club has won nowt for years it always was, and still is, a big club.
How many other promoted clubs have, or will be, knocking on the Champions League door within two years of being promoted?
Even so, it seems that no matter what Newcastle United have achieved this season, how far they have come since being relegated, and no matter how many headlines they make for good or bad reasons, then some people are still determined to not give us any recognition.
As painful as Sunday morning’s Match of the Day was to watch for Toon fans, it was after the Stoke v Arsenal match which ended in a 1-1 draw that this was highlighted.
Stoke’s ever so charismatic and sporting manager, Mr.Tony Pulis came out with this cracker, “…that’s all of the top teams that have come here this season and for the first time in four years in the premiership, no one’s beaten us…”.
None of the tops teams Tony, are you sure about that? What about the team currently in 4th place then?
When we played at the Brittania on 31st October we went into the game in 4th place and came out in 3rd.
You might not be able to see it, or be willing to acknowledge it Mr Pulis, but NUFC is undoubtedly a, “Top”, team.
Well, for this season at least.
