It isn’t a new strategy but good to see Mike Ashley’s set-up is keeping that great tradition of adding to the excitement, by making you wondering if you’ll get your season ticket in time.
Newcastle United announced today;
The Club will send out tickets with a staggered approach from Monday (6th August) and are expecting them all to have arrived by the following Tuesday (14th August).
Fans should only contact the club if they have not received their ticket by Tuesday, 14th August.
I’ve always thought it unacceptable and considering how early fans have to commit to their season tickets, there really isn’t any reason for supporters to be receiving them possibly only 4 days before the first match, or not as the case may be…
Plus it does just happen to be that school holiday thing, when a fair few thousand fans will have to miss the first match and could just be away for two weeks starting any time soon.
So when that season ticket lands on your doormat in London four days before the Spurs match, when you are thousands of miles away in the sun and you’ve promised it to your dad back home in Newcastle…
No doubt somebody will leave a comment along the lines of ‘If you were a proper fan you wouldn’t be going on holiday even when the NUFC under 5s are playing…’ but unsurprisingly a fair few of us don’t have lives quite that simple.
