What fans must understand is that each new paintbrush attack helps Mike Ashley, the story goes all around the media and tinternet with almost all of them mentioning that other name as well as St.James’ Park.

The club appear not to have directly replaced Dennis Wise but Chief Scout, Graham Carr, certainly seems to have a more pivotal role than that title would imply at other Premier League clubs.
Positive reports abound out of St.James’ Park when it comes to Carr’s role and the captures of Cabaye and Tiote are his headline news.

This Summer saw an escalation of our French recruitment drive with Yohan Cabaye spectacularly leading the way to Newcastle United.
In seasons gone by it has been the fashion to look at foreign players (especially French ones!) as a bit dodgy in the commitment stakes, Vive La Difference!

So have Mike Ashley & Derek Llambias reinvented the (football) wheel, or have the lads had a kind set of opening fixture, carried some luck and actually played some pretty good football?
