So when I found out that many of the players at White Hart Lane thought at one point they’d got through I had to laugh. When you finish fifth bottom you have to get your pleasure somewhere!
I never particularly rated Mancini but he went up in my estimation when I heard about this. Rumours are so far unconfirmed that Alex Ferguson has taken adverts out in the Exeter Hearald, Hong Kong Time. London Evening Standard….
A very rich man playing with people’s emotions and the question must be asked as to why this should be leaked in advance and Mike Ashley can’t just wait until the match is over and then reveal he is giving away an extra £1m? Or why not go into the dressing room just before kick-off and tell the players that they are also playing for the happiness of the staff they mix with day in day out?
The manager appealed to the fans to show their love for Demba Ba when trying to convince him to stay, now Coloccini is getting the ‘lurve’ treatment from Alan Pardew as well
It still sticks in the throat that Callum Mcmanaman got away with no punishment whatsoever for his assault on Massadio Haidara. Not only that, but I can still hear Dave Whelan’s voice in my head saying Mcmanaman hadn’t done anything wrong and was a great lad blah blah blah.
Coloccini is a no-brainer in the first eleven and you’ll struggle to find any fans who don’t believe that to be the case. However, supporters are ‘bothered’ that our captain was prepared to walk out on the club in January when Newcastle were in the middle of a relegation fight.
A lot of people are genuinely ‘disappointed’ with the manager’s performance this season but I think I’d believe ‘Arry Redknapp before any of you trying to claim that you really believe Alan Pardew doesn’t care if we get stuffed by Arsenal.
A match that could cost Newcastle their Premier League place and tens of millions of pounds minimum if the drop happened and yet they are so short-sighted as to not take the full allocation, unbelievable. As a comparison, Arsenal had 2,987 supporters for their match at Loftus Road last week…and won the match.
Even last summer when the manager made clear he needed a number of players to take the team forward and no money was made available, Pardew still tried to make it into a positive and cover for Ashley, despite the massive slap in the face after getting Newcastle to fifth against all odds.
