Kenedy stunner is one of 5 nominations for Premier League goal of the weekend – Voting opened

Kenedy struck his first, and second, goal for Newcastle United on Saturday.

The second one was a brilliant team effort, the Newcastle side breaking from the edge of their own boxing and Perez & Gayle combining in superb fashion to set up any easy finish for the Brazilian who had matched their lung bursting runs.

However, the first goal was a stunner on a personal level.

A lofted hopeful pass from Jonjo Shelvey into the danger area, was turned into a fabulous goal, as Kenedy chested the ball and swivelled in one movement, to then put it past the Saints keeper with a left foot volley.

Sky Sports have nominated that first Kenedy goal as one of five for the accolade of Premier League goal of the round.

Here is the write-up and nominations, then a link for you to go and vote for the Newcastle loan star.

Sky Sports:

‘Marcus Rashford, Ashley Barnes and Jamie Vardy feature in the Premier League goals of the round, but which was your favourite?

Rashford’s fine turn and shot in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool is included, as well as Kenedy’s first for Newcastle in the win over Southampton.

Jamie Vardy’s volley as the ball came over his shoulder in Leicester’s 4-1 win over West Brom features, as does Ashley Barnes’ fantastic effort in Burnley’s 3-0 win at West Ham, and Cenk Tosun’s first Goodison Park goal in Everton’s 2-0 victory over Brighton.

Marcus Rashford (first goal) – MAN UTD 2-1 Liverpool

Ashley Barnes – West Ham 0-3 BURNLEY

Cenk Tosun – EVERTON 2-0 Brighton

Kenedy (first goal) – NEWCASTLE 3-0 Southampton

Jamie Vardy – West Brom 1-4 LEICESTER’
