Quite incredible comments from Arsenal fans ahead of Newcastle match

You know that Arsenal fans have no proper grasp on reality.

The embarrassing way they go on, as though they are eternal victims in the football world that they and the rest of us inhabit.

The way they have the knives out for Arsene Wenger whenever they draw a couple of matches.

Which brings us to Arsenal v Newcastle today.

Just read the negativity coming from Arsenal fans in the comments below.

This is due to falling to seventh in the Premier League, this month seeing that 3-1 home defeat to Man Utd, followed by draws at both Southampton and West Ham.

Not great results but that Man U game was just one of those days, even all the Arsenal fans themselves were moaning because Alan Shearer wouldn’t admit they’d deserved to win, having dominated the Mancs in every department apart from goals.

The real story anyway is that they may be seventh but are only one point off fourth place. They are in the knockout stages of the Europa League and have a League Cup quarter-final this midweek. Plus of course it is only seven months ago when they last saw their team pick up a trophy.

On top of that, Arsenal had won all 12 of their Premier League matches before that Man Utd game.

In their other seven home Premier League matches this season the Gunners have won all seven, scoring 20 goals and conceding only four.

To that backdrop, some Gooners are seeing an easy win today, but many only see a drab depressing game, with a draw or even Newcastle potentially winning, whilst they slaughter most of their players as well.

Comments from Arsenal fans via their Online Arsenal message board:

‘Newcastle must fancy ending their recent poor form and getting something here.’

‘Other managers have worked out how to stop us

‘We are one dimensional, lack pace, power and creativity

‘So get organised, mark up, squeeze the space and hit on the break.’

‘We will win this one and Wenger will talk about our mental strength to bounce back from a disappointing few results.’

‘I just don’t care anymore.’

‘Dont want Sanchez or Walcott anywhere near the starting 11…

Mind you if i was to take away all of the players i dont really wanna see in the starting 11 we wouldn’t have a team to start the match.’

‘Can see us only winning by 1 goal. Probably a dull 0-0.’

‘Think we’ll find our feet in this one and actually yield some goals for a change.

3-1.’

‘Imagine the scenes if we fail to beat the Toon at home, winless in 4 in the league and can’t beat this useless mob.’

‘We’re so rubbish I’d be surprised if we’re on TV in Asia.’

‘I had faith in Arsene Wenger until 15/16, there was no defending that horror show.

That 2nd place finish was just as bad if not worse than last season’s 5th.’

‘Failing to beat Leicester to the title was the last straw for me.

I was never a strong “Wenger Out” protester before, though. It was more of a preference – until Leicester won the title, that was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

‘Now every ‘upset’ and pathetic performance gets me so angry i can’t take this manager or team anymore.’

‘Hope Lacazette is back in the starting line up

If he isnt and Giroud starts lets hope we play with some width and get some crosses in to him unlike Wednesday when we still tried to go through the middle

‘I’d drop Sanchez as well. Fed up of his attitude and giving the ball away every time we seem to go forward. He couldnt look more fed up if he tried.

You look at him and how he is reacting becasue he wants out and then see Mahrez still putting in a shift for Leicester, its embarrassing.

Would also like to see Jack get another start and lets be bold and stick AMN as the holding player instead of a woeful Xhaka.’

‘Don’t care. Factor everything into the League cup tie. Play the kids against Newcastle and the big kids Theo and Jack. 1 0 Giroud.’

‘I agree that Lacazette and Wilshere should both start.

Wilshere is one of the few players in our team that has the desire that Wenger is so keen on, but we rarely see.

I’m not sure about Maitland Niles but it would be some statement by Wenger if he dropped Sanchez.

I don’t think he will because if he is off in the transfer window, Wenger will want to get the most out of him while he is here. But if he if he drops him, it’s virtually saying he was wrong to keep him, and we all know that Wenger is never going to say he was wrong.

What ever team he picks, this should be a fairly comfortable win against a side in poor form in recent games.’

‘I hope Arsene Wenger will seriously consider to improve the team next January, buying three important players: a commanding CB (de Vrij should be the #1 target), a top midfielder as Goretzka and Thomas Lemar.

Ok, I’m dreaming…’

‘Should beat them comfortably but it’s arsenal so it will be a late boring 1-0 to us.’

‘We’ll destroy them.’

‘I’m more interested to see if Wenger can arrest his 3 game losing streak vs Klopp this time next week.’

‘Newcastle 2 nil .

Wenger can blame having to play Wednesday then again on Saturday.

Go on Arsene, mess it up.’
