Premier League form table ahead of Manchester United v Newcastle United

Consecutive defeats have knocked Newcastle down the league table and it is a similar story with the Premier League form table.

Those narrow losses to Burnley and Bournemouth have put NUFC in 16th place based on results in the last six games.

Only five points from a possible 18, with that win over Palace, draws against Southampton and Liverpool, plus three defeats by Burnley, Palace, and Brighton.

The only teams worse off are the three in the current relegation places, plus West Brom who are rock bottom with only two points from 18 – Newcastle play them away in two weeks time (28 November).

With their expectations and money spent, Manchester United will be similarly unimpressed with this Premier League form table.

They have only 10 points from a possible 18 and now stand eight points behind Manchester City.

Defeated by Huddersfield and Chelsea, a draw with Liverpool, plus wins over Spurs, Everton and Southampton.

In contrast, Man Utd had picked up up 13 points from their opening five games of the season.

Watford are up next for Newcastle after Man U, there will be some encouragement for Rafa there, as Waford have lost their last three games. Hopefully Newcastle will avoid this kind of stat on Saturday at Old Trafford…
