The results of the Newcastle v Burnley player ratings by fans.

Always interested to see what supporters have collectively made of the latest performance, when using our interactive ratings system.

Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

Three players picked out as having done relatively ok in a pretty poor overall team performance.

Jonjo Shelvey (6.8) picks up the top rating in a game where he had a few moments but not exactly helped by those around him in the front six positions.

The only other two to rate 6.0 or higher were the two centre-backs, though with injury for summer signing Chris Wood, Jamaal Lascelles (6.4) and Florian Lejeune (6.3) didn’t face the biggest attacking threat. Credit to the captain though, especially when it comes to confidence on the ball, he has massively improved even from last season in the Championship.

As well as three picked out at the top end, there is also a clear trio marked down as underachieving.

Only three players receiving an average mark of less than 5.0 and they are all way below that.

Joint bottom are the front two. Joselu and Ayoze Perez only registering 3.0 each, the pair of them offering next to no threat to the Burnley goal.

Not far behind them is Mohamed Diame (3.2), on his return to the team he did nothing to suggest why he should stay there.

The other five players in the starting eleven all scored five point something – not terrible but not really offering a great deal.

Highest of them was Christian Atsu (5.9) who made a dew promising runs in the first half but then faded, the story of his season so far in a number of games.

Next highest were Rob Elliot and DeAndre Yedlin (both 5.7), the pair of them once again putting in committed displays but couldn’t do anything to prevent the goal.

Manquillo (5.3) and Ritchie (5.2) completed the team, neither of them having any real impact on the game.
