Jurgen Klopp not a happy man after Newcastle 1 Liverpool 1
Jurgen Klopp wasn’t a happy man after the final whistle at St James Park.
The game finishing Newcastle 1 Liverpool 1, despite the scousers dominating possession.
Klopp’s grievances were seemingly endless…
Blaming bad luck, bad officials, and maybe most of all, his own players.
Jurgen Klopp claims he ‘didn’t see one more chance for Newcastle’ apart from the goal.
That is a little over the top as Newcastle engineered a handful of decent situations.
Whilst for Liverpool, there was some desperate defending to keep them out at times but as you can see from the stats below, Rob Elliot had very few actual shots on target to save.
Jurgen Klopp:
“I am disappointed, frustrated, whatever you want…
“Away at Newcastle for each team will be a difficult place to play.
“We scored a wonderful goal and created wonderful chances.
“We shot the ball over the goal even when it was empty.
“We created five or six outstanding, big chances. Usually we score with one of them.
“I didn’t see one more chance for Newcastle.
“Newcastle got one chance and scored. That doesn’t feel too fair.
We had a clear penalty. I don’t know what he has to do – pull the shirt off him?
“If you don’t help yourself no one else helps you. It will be like this until we score.
“We play like this, it makes sense that we play like this, usually we score in situations like this.
“We have to accept this and carry on.”
