Which 3 Newcastle goalkeepers would you have kept this season? Vote now

When it came to Newcastle goalkeepers, there was no shortage of options for Rafa Benitez this summer.

His first decision was to send Matz Sels out on a year’s loan to Anderlecht, back in the keeper’s native Belgium.

Then very late in the transfer window, Tim Krul was allowed to leave and join Brighton on a season’s loan as well, though that seemed a little strange as the Dutch keeper’s NUFC contract only had a year to run anyway.

Wednesday afternoon saw the surprise announcement that Krul’s loan move had now turned into a permanent deal, meaning that he could now play against Newcastle on Sunday, if selected.

A lot of debate in the summer about the Newcastle goalkeepers and who should be first choice, back-up etc, with Rafa Benitez openly looking to bring in a new experienced number one.

Like a lot of his transfer targets, this failed to happen for the United boss, and now the situation is that Rob Elliot is number one, with Freddie Woodman apparently now the main back-up, as he has been on the bench for the last three Newcastle matches – which happily have all ended in victories.

Karl Darlow seemingly now ending up as third choice.

So rewinding back to the summer, which three Newcastle goalkeepers would you have wanted on duty this season?
