Mike Ashley is a ten year enigma, won’t talk and won’t explain himself .

A dictator with only one man one vote – he is the one man and really the fifty thousand fans can sing all they like, he doesn’t care.

Look, the evidence is there, he is a chancer and defending him…well you can’t.

This current situation now has his grubby prints all over it.

He is a chancer who chooses his words carefully but he is also a creature of habit, predictable, and what is happening now doesn’t suprise.

We have seen this all before, promised the world then nothing.

The odd thing about Cashley is his lack of vision further up the table and more wonga – but just staying up is the limit of his ambition.

He has no plans to sell and Newcastle United is his personal in-joke, a toy that pleases him and annoys everyone else.

Today (1 July 2017) sees Newcastle United pass into a new financial  year.

Mike Ashley is a toxic type, good at destroying things but not good at building for the future.

His way or no way. So what next?

Rafa Benitez gets itchy feet and does off away from mad Mike’s cold grasp?

No, he wouldn’t, would he? What would you do?

This is Newcastle United in nutty Mike’s world, nothing ruled out and the very improbable can and usually does happen…

I can’t see the first day of July bringing the signings, as Mike Ashley holds the purse strings.

  • Steve Hughes

The stuff of nightmares….Rafa walks,Ashley gives Pardew a call.

    • Alex

Even then, you’d still get thousands turning up to “support the team, not the regime.”

      • Tom Baxter

Totally agree with Alex, the same old problems, the fans lining FMA pockets. Why would FMA ever change when 50 odd thousand turning up ever home game, premiership TV money. A leopard never changes its spots.

      • Rich Lawson

Maybe, but for me there’s a line drawn and if we lost Rafa and took Pardew back me and thousands of others surely wouldn’t turn up ? Enough is enough.

      • Kneebotherm8

Yes that’s a big part of the problem, the mug punters(in his eyes)have bought his season tickets so that’s job done for him.

    • Kneebotherm8

Yes another Mike Ashley constructive dismissal a la KK.

  • Jezza

I’m not the least bit surprised at the complete lack of transfer activity this summer. I knew it would be like this. I was predicting this for months and saying all along that those fans who were expecting a £100 million spend this summer were deluding themselves. Ashley will never change. He wants to run NUFC as a highly profitable business and looks at the transfer market as a key means of maximising those profits. All of which equates to the ongoing chronic under-investment in new players we have had ever since he took over.

He is as you say a chancer, a gambler and he also knows nothing about football. He is therefore happy to take a gamble on the same squad that won the Championship being good enough to finish fourth bottom of the Premiership.

Nothing will ever change with fatso in charge of our club and I fully expect that even our newly relegated local rivals will spend more than us this summer.

  • Tel Boy Telboy

    Sums up the situation perfectly.

  • magpiefifer

It still hurts, but after 5 years I will not go back to SJP until Ashley disappears.
Rafa is a welcome breath of fresh air but while Ashley is owner we will be lumbered with the same problems year after year.
    Sell up Ashley!l

  • Franzcarrsuperstar

Which current situation do you mean?

The fact that we haven’t bought 100 players before July, I presume. Some of these articles are mental.

It’ll take years off your life if all you do is get up each morning, see there is no immediate transfer announcement and then boil over and write an article. It is going to make the summer pretty long if this is all that The Mag is going to publish 5 times a day.

    • Jezza

No it”s not the fact that we haven’t bought 100 players yet. It’s the fact that we haven’t bought one player yet.

      • Franzcarrsuperstar

        We have bought one player

  • Leazes Ender

He certainly is a creature of habit…. he’s in court again on monday over lies he’s told to a business colleague….. he doesn’t usually win those.

    • Jezza

He will never change and I can’t believe there are Newcastle fans who thought he would. I could never get away with so many fans confidently stating that we’d spend £100 million in the summer. I always knew there would be [email protected] all available for new players. Fatso is quite happy to gamble on the same squad that won the Championship being good enough to finish fourth bottom of the Premiership. Even our newly relegated, cash strapped local rivals will out spend us this summer.

  • X,WHY,Y MAN.

Rafa has basically served his purpose in Ashley’s World in getting Newcastle promoted.
He would have served his purpose a lot sooner if he had kept them in the Prem so The Championship season was a needs must exercise in reality.

Rafa will probably now receive the Alan Shearer silent treatment in the hope he will get sick and leave so another yes man stooge can be appointed.
I wonder if another Graham Carr style spotter is being lined up to bring in boat loads of youngsters with the might be good tag with the intention of punting on in 18 months ?

    • Jezza

Agreed 100%. Rafa has got Fatso’s huge free advertsing vehicle for his retail empire back on the Premiership gravy train. He has served his purpose so now he can [email protected] off and make way for Ashley’s old mate and puppet who has already got a track record of keeping NUFC in the Premiership with no money to spend.

      • X,WHY,Y MAN.

Well just as we speculate another spotter stooge has been installed !
It’s all just so predictable when it comes to Ashley.

  • nevfur

Not defending him at NUFC but to say he’s not good at building for the future just destroying things kind of ignores 2 billion gathered from Sports Direct

  • geo smt

Told you no signings before the seasons starts my £20 bet a certain

  • Desree

Even if we buy players I am sure they won’t be Raffas picks. Does the Championship title count as winning something? Can you leave now MA

    • Oooh bobbi fleckman

He needs a buyer if he is to leave
