The Newcastle team v Hearts has been revealed for the first friendly starting eleven of pre-season.
The hosts are ahead of NUFC in terms of preparation for the new season, having already had a number of friendlies and they face Elgin in a Scottish League Cup match in only four days time.
A number of Newcastle players were counted out, with Matt Ritchie recovering from injury.
Also, DeAndre Yedlin has had extra time off due to having played international football this summer, whilst Karl Darlow isn’t involved as talks with Middlesbrough are ongoing.
Expect lots of substitutions throughout the game tonight but this is who Rafa Benitez starts with:
Elliot, Clark, Lascelles, Mbemba, Haidara, Aarons, Shelvey, Diamé, Atsu, De Jong, Gayle
Woodman, Gamez, Hanley, Dummett, Lazaar, Lejeune, Colback, Saivet, Armstrong, Pérez, Mitrovic
Hopefully the players get a good workout and most importantly, no injuries are picked up.
New signing Florian Lejeune starts on the bench but no doubt will get some time on the pitch tonight.
